Abstrakt EN: The aim of this paper is to present optical methods like high speed and infrared imaging as a valuable source of information about metal 3D printing process. High speed camera were installed to 3d printed and recordings with up to 30,000 frame per second were obtained. These recording gave us valuable information about for example molten metal particles while these data is not possible to get with other technologies. Infrared imaging was also tested and all necessary equipment was build and also tested. First data proved to be valuable source of information needed to build finite element model of the temperature distribution within powder and printed part.
