Abstrakt EN: The reviewed volume is an important contribution to the cognitive histori- ography of religion in general and not only, as the subtitle would suggest, to Biblical Studies. It represents a systematic introduction to the most recent trends in cognitive sciences with the potential to draw the attention of any ancient historian dealing with culture and religion. Because of the long tradition of scholarship, high academic standards, and a circumscribed and well-defined amount of primary data, it is not uncommon for Biblical scholars to recognize the promising directions offered by new theoretical approaches. This volume is a further testimony to the disciplinary efforts of many researchers to open up new paths of inquiry
